Thank you to everyone who attended our Fins & Feathers – Fall Hatchery Tour!
Anne from OWL Rehab taught us about all things related to raptors, it was amazing to learn about all the different species and all their unique features! We were able to meet Cricket (the boobook owl) and Bob (the Swainson’s Hawk).
After the presentation from OWL’s, attendees split into two groups and went on a forest walk to see spawning salmon and learn about their importance in the ecosystem and the wildlife that depends on them. The other group got to explore the ALLCO Hatchery and learn about its history and how the fish are cared for.
We are incredibly grateful to the Maple Ridge Community Foundation who generously funded this event. Thanks, everyone for coming out to learn more about salmon and raptors!
