⚠️🌧️ Flood Watch in Effect for Our Region ⚠️🌧️ Flood Watch in Effect for Our Region 🌧️⚠️

The BC River Forecast Centre has upgraded the High Streamflow Advisory to a Flood Watch, with 100mm+ of rainfall expected. An Environment Canada Yellow Weather Alert is now in effect.

What this means:
• River levels are rising and may approach or exceed banks
• Localized flooding, fast-rising water, washouts, and hazardous travel are possible
• Areas of concern include Alouette River.

🚧 Municipal crews are actively monitoring conditions and preparing infrastructure, including drainage systems, culverts, and pump stations.
🚫 224 St & 132 Ave is CLOSED due to localized flooding.
Do NOT drive through road closures or flooded roadways. Water depth and road conditions may be unsafe and not visible. Please avoid the area and use alternate routes. The road will remain closed until conditions improve.

⚠️ Safety Reminder
• Avoid flooded roads, sidewalks, and underpasses
• Use caution near rivers and unstable banks
• Allow extra time and space when travelling

The City of Maple Ridge has sandbags available for residents in flood-prone areas.
📞 604-463-9581 | 📧 Operations@MapleRidge.ca to arrange pickup.

Please stay safe and continue to monitor local updates as conditions evolve. 💙

🐾 Forest Sighting🌳 We spotted a raccoon clim 🐾 Forest Sighting🌳
We spotted a raccoon climbing high in ALLCO Park this week! These clever nocturnal creatures are excellent climbers and often rest or forage in trees during the day. Observing wildlife from a safe distance helps keep both you and these animals safe while letting them go about their natural behaviors.
Have you seen any other forest visitors lately? Share your sightings with us in the comments below! 🦝✨
